Xbox boss responds to Street Fighter 5's PS4 exclusivity
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has suggested that he would "rather invest" in a first-party property like Killer Instinct than work with Capcom to bring Street Fighter 5 to Xbox One.
Discussing the game's PS4 exclusivity on Twitter, Spencer explained that "business deals happen" and that Microsoft "won't do all of them".
"When we have a 1st party franchise in a genre I'd rather invest in ours," he said, presumably talking about Xbox One fighter Killer Instinct.
But that doesn't mean he wouldn't have liked Street Fighter to appear on the platform.
"I'd love it if XBOX fans could play all the games," he later added, "but business just makes some deals happen. It's all part of competition."
"I'll work on making amends for SF," he continued.
Microsoft has some third-party business deals of its own, of course, with next year's Rise of the Tomb Raider set to appear on Xbox One and Xbox 360 before any other platform.
