WW: Raksha Bandhan

Posted on the 07 October 2015 by Cheekymeeky

This is a very late post. Raksha Bandhan (an Indian festival celebrating the bond between brother and sister) was in August, but I am only now getting around to posting the pics.

In this festival, the sister ties a decorative thread on to her brother's wrist, which signifies the bond between the two. In return, the brother gives a present to the sister.

Piglet just loved the rakhee that Snubnose tied on his wrist.

He was all smiles and kept the rakhee on for almost three weeks. He was also in a super-affectionate mood towards Snubnose for long afterwards showering her with hugs and kisses whenever he felt like it.

Unfortunately, he couldn't bring himself to give his present to Snubnose (the present was just a simple lollipop). I had really wanted him to learn to give her something without having one himself, but that didn't really happen, and he started to cause an unpleasant scene, and so I let them both have one each.

Hope they always remain this close. And here's hoping that at least next year Piglet learns to give something without expecting something in return. I think it's all these return gifts from parties that these kids go to that turns their heads, and makes them always expect something back.
