Worldwide Plastic Bag Ban Map

Is there a plastic bag ban in your county or state? It seems like the trend to ban has been spreading. The map below (by a maker of reusable bags) gives a good overview of what municipalities around the world have implemented a plastic bag ban, and whether the policy failed and was rescinded or is currently in force. It also shows where there is a plastic bag usage fee. How does the map look? Is your area on it? You can send information to the website to correct, update, or alert them of new bans. Interestingly missing from the map are any plastic bag bans in Japan, a country that goes through incredible amounts of them. The country is, as always, a study in contrasts. Sometimes leading the world in environmental policy such as  energy conservation and EV technology and sometimes acting like an environmental backwater with their concrete beaches and parks.
