Women’s Football Team Test Winning Supplement

Posted on the 23 June 2015 by 72point @72hub

A top British women's football team is testing a supplement made from a key ingredient in curry which could aid recovery time in its players.

Promotion-chasing Doncaster Belles have teamed up with Ateronon, which produces a pill to help people suffering from Delayed Onset Muscular Soreness (DOMS).

The Cambridge-based business is supplying the players with Ateronon Active for between games and training sessions, a deal worth £10,000.

The whole deal of free product is worth up to £10k. We are not handing over any money.

The pill contains a highly bio-available curcumin formulation, extracted from turmeric.

This anti-inflammatory agent helps relieve aches and pains caused by strenuous exercise, and assists with muscle and joint recovery.

The patented formula means it is 30 times more absorbable than standard turmeric, which is used in many Indian and Asian dishes.

Ateronon Active is also being used by recent Champions League winners FC Barcelona as well as La Liga side Athletic Bilbao.

It has been subject to published research from The Olympic Research Centre in Barcelona.

The relationship between Ateronon and Doncaster Belles started at the Football Medicine Strategies Conference in London, where a Belles physio attended.

Conversations continued with ex-England international Sue Smith who was in charge of developing the relationship.

Smith, who has represented England 93 times and is now a BBC sports commentator said: "We are pleased to be associated with Ateronon Active.

"Our team participates in a very enduring sport that requires strength, athleticism, and toughness. Ateronon is able to offer the support our team requires."

Chris Meaney, Head of Marketing at Ateronon, added: "Doncaster Belles is a fantastic team to be sponsoring and we are pleased that they are the first UK club we are able to partner with.

"Football is a high impact sport and taking Ateronon Active tablets has many benefits which will aid the team suffering with uncomfortable muscular pain and stiffness which is a serious issue for those who participate in sports."
