Womanity by Thierry Mugler

Womanity by Thierry MuglerIt's strange, when you adore a perfume by the same perfumier and you don't like another one they've created. I felt that way instantly about Womanity, but having said that I also initially thought so about Angel, which launched 21 year's ago!

Angel's now my favorite perfume but it wasn't until 2009 before I dared to spray it on myself again and I found I really liked the scent, it's strong and a little goes a long way.

Based on my past experience with Angel, I decided to give Womanity a try again and I like it. I wouldn't say it replaces Angel as my go-to scent, it's definitely a scent I enjoy wearing. I'm considering buying a bigger bottle but I probably won't until September when I can shop Duty Free because I'm going to Sydney for #IMATS.

Everytime I dab Womanity on my skin, the scent smell's different. The last dab, before writing this post, I swear I could smell a fresh pot of Tea and then a few minutes later I could smell Rose followed by a nutty scent.

Womanity's notes are: Fig, Fig Wood, Fig Leaf, Caviar and Woody notes. I read a few quick review's about this perfume to see how other's described the scent and someone said the Caviar makes it smell fishy! I definitely don't think that's the case, I can't smell anything fishy about it. Another said it smell's like a pair of pant's being worn for a day, but not a dirty smell. I don't smell that either and I'm not going to smell my pant's after wearing them for a day! I guess it smell's different to everyone and it's not a scent everyone will love. I definitely feel it could be mistaken for a masculine scent because of the woody notes (one of my favorite candle scent's is Mahogany Teakwood, which a lot of people say it smell's like an Abercrombie and Fitch store, but having never been to A & F I can't confirm that, but it's a masculine scent)

I've tried to like Womanity a few times since it launched in 2010 but I gave up until recently because the scent didn't float my boat. Clearly my taste has changed in 4 year's! I think it could be a unisex scent based on the fig and woodsy notes but I personally don't know a guy who'd wear it so I'll leave it to your imagination. I also like the Mugler fragrance called Alien but I still don't own that one.I'm by no mean's an expert on describing scent's and reviewing them. I just thought maybe if you had previously overlooked Angel or Womanity you might like to think about trying again. Everyone has a different reaction and description of the scent. For instance, there's a girl who rides my bus route and she slather's herself in Angel. I instantly recognised it as soon as she entered the bus but on her it smell's quite floral, whereas on me it's more chocolate, nutty, pralines leaning to woodsy. I wish it smelt floral on myself as I quite like floral scent's. The girl riding the bus definitely doesn't believe in less is more. Angel's one of those scent's that last's on your skin almost all day, or at least a significant amount of time, so I'm not sure if that's the case with Womanity as I haven't worn it that many times to form an opinion on the longevity of the scent.

Please let me know what you and/or your fella think's of this perfume, do you think it could be a unisex scent? Leave a comment below if you own, or have tried this perfume and what you like or don't like about it. I'm interested to hear other's thought's on it.
