Wisdom Touched with Sadness

Whittaker Chambers said, “True wisdom comes from the overcoming of suffering and sin. All true wisdom is therefore touched with sadness.”

This quote touched me because some of my lessons have been painful ones. I didn’t act in the best way or make the best choice and as I think back on it the feelings I have are painful.

Sometimes I am sad when I also review the people I no longer have in my life that taught me important lessons, was I fully present with them?

My answers again give me pain or sadness and yet there is also hope – hope that I will do better in the present and the future which are the only things I can affect.

I also am hopeful that by reviewing my life – which I do daily in our early accountability calls and monthly with the goals call that I gain the wisdom I lacked before – that the lessons were worth the price I paid.

This thinking eases my mind and though there is a twinge of sadness for opportunity lost, there is also a deep understanding that those choices and decisions brought me to this place where I can make better ones.

Remember You Create Your Day by the way You Think! Be Present!

Go make it a Magnificent Day

Blessings, Shawna
