Wine Wednesday Tarara Long Bomb Red

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Now that it gets dark at about 5pm it is hard to get motivated to do much at night. I want to curl up on the couch with a glass of wine, a blanket, turn the fire place on (or have Scott build a real fire upstairs) and relax.

While I can’t do that every night I did make a priority of that last night. We served this with the Spicy Quinoa with Sweet Potatoes and enjoyed this Virginia wine. Perfect with spicy food, this is one of those wines meant to be enjoyed while eating game food and watching sports.

A cute little story on the back about how the founder of Tarara winery played sports in college (football and wrestling) but was never really on a great team. Knowing how much he loved to watch sports he created this wine just for that. Even if you team isn’t do all that well (ahem, darn you Green Bay Packers!!) This one was from our Swirl Wine Club  for about $20 a bottle, and one that kind of got buried in our rack. It was really good. Nothing too fancy but perfect for that curl up kind of night with a big bowl spicy quinoa and vegetables.
