Wine Wednesday Beaujolais Nouveau 2014

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Have you heard of beaujolais nouveau? It’s the first red wine released from that seasons harvest. A light, fresh red that is best served chilled. This is not the most amazing wine you will ever taste but it is fun to be drinking something to comemerate the year. And as a marketing manager in my day job I love the story behind this and Georges Duboeuf is one smart man to have turned this into a world wide phenomenon on the third Thursday in November.

For under $10 dollars it’s fun to participate in traditions like this! There are more than 120 held in the Beaujolais region alone and selling more than 35 million bottles world wide is no small feet. Cheesy, yes. Great wine, not really. But it’s fun to part of a worldwide celebration.
