Don’t you love the fragrance of Lavender? I sell a lot of Lavender items at my space at Shabby Creek and everyone comments on how good my space smells! It really is a relaxing and de-stressing fragrance. It reminds me of the time I was running through the lavender fields in Provence in the South of France.

Wait! What? I have never been to the South of France?! Well, even if I can’t get to the South of France I can still fill my home with the fragrance of Provence with this French Lavender Candle. It’s a super easy DIY project and you will love these little candles in your home too. They make great hostess gifts or shower favors as well.

Here’s What You’ll Need

1 lb. of Soy Candle Wax available at most craft stores

12 Short Candle Wicks

Lavender Essential Oil

12-4 oz Jelly Jars

Here’s How to Do it

First, melt your wax in a microwave safe bowl until it becomes a liquid. About 3 minutes will do it.

Once your wax is fully melted, add about 30-40 drops of lavender essential oil.

Next, dip the base of your wick in the melted soy wax and “glue” the wick to the bottom of the jar. Then add a little bit of wax to cover the base of the wick and allow to harden. This will keep your wick from floating around on you when you pour in the rest of the wax.

Allow the wick to set and the wax to harden before you add the rest of your wax.

Fill the rest of the jar with the melted soy wax and allow the wax to harden. It will take a few hours. When the wax is fully set you can trim your wick with scissors. And your candles will be ready to go!

If you are going to be gifting your candles, pretty wrapping is a must! I added a cupcake wrapper, some baker’s twine, a few sprigs of dried lavender and a tag to complete the package.

This is a great Saturday afternoon craft. I hope when you light your candle and your room fills with the calm of lavender, you feel like you are being whisked away to the South of France too.
