What to Know When Choosing Your Reception Hall

By Weddingblog2011

While the wedding ceremony is the serious part of the wedding, the reception is the fun part where you can let your hair down. It’s where you can celebrate your marriage with family and friends. Of course, you want to show your guests a good time and have a memorable reception so choosing your reception hall is one of the most important aspects of planning a wedding.

One of the first things you should keep in mind when starting your search is location. What exactly are you looking for? Many places hold receptions. Some examples are banquet halls, hotels, gardens, golf courses, and restaurants. Holding it in a private home is another option. Check to see if the place your ceremony is being held has a place for a reception. This will help save on both money and travel. Another thing to keep in mind for location is weather. If looking for an outside place, make sure it has a tent or option to go inside, especially if the place has unpredictable weather.

Another consideration for when choosing your reception hall is how large the party will be. You want to make sure you will have plenty of room for your guests. Hotels are good for large reception parties. They usually have a gallery or banquet room somewhere. If it is a smaller wedding, with not many people, you might even consider having dinner at a nice restaurant afterwards.

When you have narrowed your selections down, find out what each hall offers for their receptions. Some have their own caterer and may even supply the music. These little bonuses make everything much easier on the soon to be married couple. Some places even offer to help with the decorations. Not having to worry about place settings and flower decorations can take a lot of stress off during the days before your wedding.

The way a place is decorated is a very important thing to consider for your reception hall. The atmosphere and look of a place can have a huge impact on pictures and videos for the wedding. Take into consideration what kind of ceremony you will be having. If you are going for traditional or old fashioned with a timeless dress, you might want to consider something older looking for the reception hall. It will do wonders on your pictures. On the other hand, if you prefer a contemporary look then you might want to choose a hotel with a reception hall that has a sleek, modern design.

The main thing to remember is that it is your day. You deserve to have the reception party you have always dreamed of. The reception hall is a big part of that. Do something you will remember for years to come, and pick the place that, in the end, is right for y
