What I Wore: Denim and Leather What I Wore: Denim and Leather What I Wore: Denim and Leatherdress: BB Dakota via Gwynnie Bee (1X)| Boots: DUO ( similar in wide calf) | Bag: c/o Maxwell Scott | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Necklace: Etsy | Thumb Ring: Argento Vivo ( similar)

My friend came over the other week wearing this dress via Gwynnie Bee. It was so cute and the next day I got an email from Gwynnie Bee that the same dress was coming in my next box! I forgot that my friend is a bit shorter than I; this day was relatively warm but looking back I think I would have been more comfortable if I was wearing tights. If I were taller, this would be super cute with leggings. I could also see it over a turtleneck or unbuttoned more to show a striped top underneath; even switch up the silhouette with a wide belt over the drawstring waistband. The sleeves have tabs to easily roll them up but I decided to keep them down. While this is a versatile piece, for my height it's not something I loved. But no worries, I dropped it in one of Gwynnie Bee's labeled free shipping bags, dropped it off at the USPS drop in my office basement and another great piece is already heading my way! No buyer's remorse, no being forced to make it work; if it works I can keep it longer or buy it, if not I'll get something else with no additional cost! If you're curious about Gwynnie Bee, use my referral link and try it out for 30 days for free!

And can I take a minute to sob about the fact that DUO Boots is no more? They were my JAM and I have three pairs from there. Sadly they decided to rebrand and no longer have the same fit or the same classic styles. Just in time for fall boot fashion shopping, Wide Widths redesigned their site and to celebrate they're offering $20 off an order of $199.99 or more with the code NEWLOOK. This code is valid through November 15, 2016. Wide Width's customer service is unparalleled and they carry all sizes, styles, and quality brands. I got my Ros Hommerson 'Maryland' boots from them (the 'Lori' is super similar) and I was so confused with sizing and which style to get I called them and they helped me find boots that almost a decade later I'm still wearing and loving. The Bree from David Tate is a good alternative to what I'm wearing in this post, they're the type you'll wear for years slipped over slim jeans or worn with dresses and skirts. Scared to shop for wide calf boots online? Wide Widths has a really helpful page with tips on how to measure your calf and I can say with experience that they're awesome to deal with by phone or email!
