What Goes Around Comes Around – A Skirt For A Tea

By Theyouandmecollective @youmecollective

You know the rule: “If you haven’t worn something in more than a year, get rid of it.” Well, I just can’t get behind this. Just because I haven’t worn something in a while, doesn’t mean I don’t like it or that I’ll never wear it again. I am not very quick to get rid of things, especially if it’s something that I know can’t be replaced. So, I decided to start a new feature – What Goes Around Comes Around – where I’ll pull out an old item and give it new life.

Today I pulled out this skirt that I haven’t worn in I don’t know how long. With the peculiar color and mixed patterns, it could easily have been put into the “what was I thinking” pile, but something about it made me want to give it another chance. The skirt kind of speaks for itself, so I kept it simple with a black tank, black flats, and, of course, Esma Jewelry.

A little background: My parents have a bed and breakfast where my sister and I host teas. So, today we had a tea, which is where I tried out my new ‘old’ look. It worked well, because it was comfortable, but still very fitting for a tea.

In case you’re curious about what we served, here is a little detour…

A mixed green salad with tomato, basil, and fried goat cheese with a cranberry orange scone:

This roasted vegetable tart was the star of the show (the ladies loved it), and we also had the traditional favorites – a chicken salad sandwich and cucumber sandwich:

My favorite part… an apricot pistachio tart, a blueberry white chocolate scone, and a whoopie pie:

It’s important to make sure that it tastes good…

All in all, it was a great day.
