A window valance is a form of window treatment that covers the uppermost part of the window and can be hung alone or paired with window blinds, or curtains. Valances are a popular decorative choice in concealing drapery hardware. Wikipedia

HOW TO MAKE:
To make a valance for your window, start by using a tape measure to measure the width of your window.
If you prefer a gathered valance, then you would multiple by 1.5 to know how much fabric you need.
Your valance should be about 1/4 of the length of your window, or at least 15 inches.
