Whale Painting

My first version of this watercolor painting had a gray whale and light blue sky and dark blue water. Not so exciting. Who needs realism if you are painting a whale and fish jumping out of water? This one I think inspired my students to have a little more fun with their colors. I think that even a pink whale showed up during class that day.
