It’s not the first time someone is trying to integrate fitness tracking into a belt but, this seems to the best attempt. Welt was showcased at CES 2016. For $119 one can get a subtle wearable that tracks your waistline, eating habits, step counts and the time you spend sitting.

For $99 one can get a subtle wearable belt that tracks your waistline, eating habits, step counts and the time you spend sitting. Unfortunately, the option to back the project at $69 is already gone.

Welt has a magnetic waist sensor, which is embedded into the buckle, lets you see how much progress you’ve made in terms of inches lost. It can sense waist sizes from 28 to 44 inches in circumference and give you personalized health guidance through its companion application.

It is not just a regular belt with inbuilt activity tracker but adds to your fashion quotient as it boasts the same aesthetic appeal as some of the nicest pieces in your closet.  Would you prefer buying a smart belt or a smartwatch ? Do let us know your thoughts in the comment box
