Weekly Favorites June 4th-10th

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
Instead of trying to keep up with monthly favorites, I have decided to do weekly favorites. These won't be just about beauty products, either. I haven't been posting much on here because a lot of things have been going on and I just haven't had the motivation, time, or energy to work on blog posts. I want to make it a priority to at least get one of these posts up a week.

A quick word of warning: I will talk about some high end products in this post. I don't use many luxury beauty products, so if I talk about them at all, they are good.
Lets start with some face products. I have been combining two primers lately: The Armani Prima Day Long Skin Perfector and Guerlain's L'Or Primer. The Armani Prima is great for controlling oil. It doesn't keep it totally at bay, but it helps a heck of a lot more than anything else I have used. I'll apply it first, then go apply the L'Or Primer on top it. The L'Or makes my skin look very healthy and bright and it seems to hold on to foundation very well. Maybe I am imagining things, but I also think my skin looks a bit firmer when I use this, too.
Weekly Favorites: Foundation and Primer
I do have a budget friendly foundation I have been loving. The Kokie Cosmetics Skin Perfect HD Foundation makes my skin look pretty amazing. I would say it has medium coverage. It feels lightweight and doesn't look heavy at all. It has more of a natural finish; it isn't too mate or too dewy. It stays on very well, too. Oh, and the shade match is perfect. I wear 10W, which is a little strange because I have cool undertones.
The highlighter I have been using all week is Wet n Wild's Bronze Over the Rainbow. It is perfect for summer and it gives my skin a kiss of golden shimmer. I also love the brush in their Unicorn Glow collection. It is well made and applies the highlighter perfectly.

Now on to some eye products. Maybelline just released the new City Mini palettes. At first, I wasn't sure about them. I have been wearing Rooftop Bronzes and I am starting to like it a lot. The pigment isn't anything overly impressive (not bad, though), but what I love is the shine. The shadows look great on the eyes and are pretty easy to work with.
Ladies and gents, I might have found my all time favorite mascara. Mascaras usually don't impress me much, but the Chanel Le Volume Mascara in Blue Night is incredible. Don't let the shade name fool you. It is a dark navy that really just looks like a lighter black or charcoal. It adds the perfect amount of length and volume without looking clumpy or making your lashes feel crunchy. My last eye product is the Makeup Revolution Brow Revolution, which I am now in love with. It looks a little scary at first, but it works very well. It applies easily, stays on all day, and it sets pretty quickly. It is now my favorite brow product. That is how much I have been liking it.

On my last trip to CVS, I found a sonic facial cleansing brush by Beauty 360. It was only $20 and so far I am nothing but pleased with it. My skin is looking a lot clearer and it keeps a charge. I've had it for a week and a half and I have only charged it once. It works a lot better than the previous drugstore one I had. I bought it from Rite Aid a while back and it no longer works. But, so far I am liking the Beauty 360 one. I'll continue using it for two more weeks or so and try to get a review up.

Now for my non-beauty favorites. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have gotten into lettering. I am in love it and that is what I spend my down time working on. After watching a tutorial by Marie Browning on the Tombow USA FB page, my favorite technique is using their brushes to create a watercolor effect on glossy photo paper. I still have a lot of practicing to do, but the effect is beautiful and they never come out the same way.

I've finally read and watched Harry Potter. Now I am one of the millions of people obsessed with it. These earrings from Hot Topic are perfect for any fan, and they are well made. I don't wear earrings a lot because they feel uncomfortable and heavy after a few hours. These are so lightweight that I forget I am wearing them.

Like I said, I want to try and do this every week. If I am not able to post, at least I can get this up and include some mini reviews on products.  I do have a few posts in mind for later this week and I will start working on those ASAP.
I hope you are having a good week and I will see you soon!
