Weekend Reads This is the last post I'll be writing in 2018... but not the last post on Wardrobe Oxygen. This coming week I have some wonderful women in my life who will be sharing guest posts. Like other Wardrobe Oxygen content, it will be about fashion, beauty, and living an authentic life. I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to connecting with all of you in the New Year!

Weekend Reads

With all the bad news about social media, it's refreshing to read something positive about it. Thank Instagram for supporting indie bookstores. (Vox)

Want to read a feel-good story? How about this one about a friendship between a suburban dad and a celebrity basketball player. (WBUR)

Want a feel-good show to binge on during the holiday week? I kinda sorta completely love . It's like Touched by an Angel for 2018. I DVR it and look forward to it every week. Hi, my name is Alison. I cry during holiday commercials and love shows like God Friended Me.

This week I had a phone call with Kristin of the Petite Pear Project. She's looking to start a clothing company and wanted to chat about petite fashion and shopping, what struggles I have and what I wish was on the market. She's looking for more feedback, if you have 10 minutes to spare want to share your thoughts on her survey?

I have to say I enjoyed seeing Amy Sedaris' one-bedroom eclectic apartment. She also color-coordinates her books (though I'm okay with letting go of books even if they're good colors... why are so many books white, black and brown? We need more pink, purple, and orange in this world!).

Why I've Had Trouble Buying Hollywood's Version Of Girl Power - this piece from Buzzfeed had me nodding my head. Thoughts?

Sure you've seen the original Mary Poppins (and we plan to see Mary Poppins Returns Christmas Day), but have you ever read the book? I read it to Emerson and found it very different but awesome; learn more about the woman behind the magical nanny. (Washington Post)

Personally, I'm ready for OTT "dad" sneakers, mules, and shoes with feathers and fur dragging on the ground to die along with the year of 2018. (Vogue)

Looking for a book to read over the holidays? Consider one of the ten best books of 2018 per the New York Times (I read and recommend and am reading right now).

Speaking of best of 2018, here's Noisey's list of the 100 best songs of 2018. I love these lists, there's some songs I know and many I don't. I put them on Spotify while cleaning or editing photos to catch up and often times find new artists to enjoy.

A lot of bloggers have already shared this piece, but after reading it and reconfiguring my iPhone I had to share it as well. How to reconfigure your phone so it's more productive and less of a time suck. It takes some getting used to, but I find I randomly pick up my phone less often and seem to have more time. (Medium)

Several of you have been asking about the hats I've been wearing lately on the blog and Instagram and where I get them. I pick them up all over the place; Topshop is a great brand where I find funky fun hats at good prices (and Nordstrom has free shipping and returns so if it doesn't fit no worries). For higher quality hats, I like Tenth Street Hats which has a 30-day free return policy to make sure you love what you buy. For those who have big noggins like me, I have had good luck with Topshop and buying men's hats from other brands.

For Your Entertainment

Christmas is this week, and nothing says Christmas like Lil Jon and the Kool-Aid Man. Say what? No, this isn't an SNL skit and yes, this will be stuck in your head all weekend. All I want all I really want for Christmas... Felix Navidad no egg nog! Happy holidays everyone!
