The useful properties of vinegar was first discovered 10.000 years ago. Later around 5.000 BC the Babylonians began to produce vinegar to use it as a preservative and for culinary purposes. The health benefits of vinegar were acknowledged by Hippocrates (460-370 BC) who was a greek physician. Also known as the Father of modern medicine. From 14th to 18th century when plague was evident in Europe, vinegar was used as an antiseptic and was rubbed into the skin as an antibacterial. In 18th century in France a group of prisoners were released to bury the dead bodies. Out of the prisoners there were a group of thives who stole from the dead bodies and survived the plague because they drank vinegar infused with garlic and cleaned them selves with vinegar. Garlic vinegar is still called "Four thieves vinegar".Reference: The Vinegar and Oil Bible by Bridget JonesTake care and have a fabulous weekend!<3
