To create the perfect look, decide what style you want and what goes with your dress. Let's take a look at how to get the right look for your wedding.

Wedding Eye Makeup: How to Create the Perfect Look

Eyebrows

Before you pick out the perfect shade of eyeshadow and eyeliner technique, we need to talk about your eyebrows. Your eyebrows will absolutely make or break a look. They need to be cleaned up and filled in. Head to the salon and get your eyebrows shaped. There are several techniques you can use, like waxing and threading. Be sure to give yourself at least one week in case something goes wrong. If the wax is too hot it can burn you. The last thing you want to be highlighted in pictures is scabbed eyebrows. Yuck!

As far as filling them in, you can have them dyed at a salon or use eyebrow makeup. There are a few different types of makeup for this. You can use gel, powder, or a pencil. If you are planning to do this yourself, be sure to practice this before the wedding day.

Eye Shadow

When you are ready to think about eyeshadow, think about the look you want to create. Do you want sultry and sexy or maybe a fresh, light and airy look.

For sultry and sexy, choose a darker color and a smoky technique. For a fresh look use light pinks or beiges.

Use caution with sparkly eyeshadow. In person, glittery eyeshadow looks great because of the changing lights and angles. But, sparkly eyeshadow can be hard to photograph, especially if you plan on doing outdoor shots.

Eyeliner

Back to the sultry or fresh look, if you are wanting a sultry look, you can use thicker, darker eyeliner. Dark brown and black are great for this look.

If you want a fresh look to consider going eyeliner free or just the top lid. A thin dark line is fine, but it should be thin. A great option for this would be lining your eyelashes top and bottom with eyeshadow. A light shade can make your eyes pop.

Mascara

Mascara is a must. Brown and black or great options. Your wedding is not the time to try different colors of mascara. Blue mascara isn't the best wedding look.

Mascara should be applied in thin layers. Be sure that there isn't clumping. If you can't achieve the fullness you want with mascara, try false lashes.

False Eyelashes

For a fresh look add lashes that are natural looking. There should be space between each lash and in a natural curve.

For a sultry look, you can choose longer lashes that are closer together for a bolder look.

Glittery or colored lashes are not a great choice for your big day.

For your wedding day, decide the look you want. That will dictate the color and techniques that you will use for your makeup. Remember, this isn't the time to play with your makeup. You should play it safe for your wedding.
