We Are Recruiting: Domestic Energy Assessor

Go Greena Ltd is looking to appoint Domestic Energy Assessors to produce energy performance certificates for domestic properties in and around the Greater Manchester area. You will be required to conduct a technical survey to ensure that the property is eligible to receive insulation under ECO guidelines. You will then be required to collect data relating to the physical attributes of each property and accurately enter the data into computer software to produce an energy efficiency rating and EPC certificate.

Principle responsibilities:

  • To carry out a condition survey to assess the physical attributes of the customer’s property in order to make a recommendation report which will determine whether the property is suitable to receive insulation under ECO legislation. This could include but is not limited to structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and site layout.
  • Accurately capture and record relevant data whilst ensuring compliance with regulation framework.
  • Create and provide the customer with an energy performance certificate which fulfils both the customer needs and all relevant legislative requirements.
  • Use knowledge and experience to demonstrate to the customer how the energy efficiency of the home can be improved by the installation of relevant energy saving measures.
  • Ensure that administration duties are carried out in line with company procedures and that all results from energy assessments are accurately recorded and submitted promptly.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and internal departments to ensure that KPI’s are adhered to.
  • Effectively manage a workload by utilising full diary availability.
  • Resolve any procedural or customer issues that may arise and seeks timely ways to make improvements.
  • Comply with health and safety, legislation and audit requirements.

Qualifications / education/ training:

  • Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) Qualification (Essential).
  • Relevant degree (or studying towards) in one of the following subjects; surveying, construction, civil engineering or building engineering. (desirable).
  • Full driving licence.

Experience & knowledge required:

  • Customer facing experience.
  • Previous experience in all aspects of building surveying on a variety of projects.
  • Industry knowledge of energy saving measures.
  • Sound understanding of the green Deal and the Energy Company Obligation.

Skills and competencies:

  • The ability to accurately measure, record and report through the use of construction drawings, specifications and calculations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain a product or service.
  • Ability to process and interpret complex information.
