Collection of Early Canadian Maps (1556 to 1857)

In 1971-72 Dr. William Howard Pugsley, donated his collection of early Canadian maps that he had collected during the late 1930s and World War II. The collection of 50 historical maps published between 1556 to 1857 helps to explain the discovery and exploration of early North America. The W. H. Pugsley Collection in the McLennan Library at McGill University now contains more than 6,000 rare books and historical maps dating from 1556 to the 1940s. McGill University has provided web acess to digital scans of the 50 Early Canadian historical Maps.
