Talk about nostalgia! If you were born in the 70s, you'd love this: A website dedicated to building and maintaining an Internet library now makes your childhood favorites available again!

The gaming consoles we now know as the PlayStation, XBox and Wii all had a slew of ancestors that provided the older generation an excellent source of video game entertainment. Sure, the older technology made simpler graphics and a less heightened gaming experience, but it didn't stop those kids from the days of Ferris Bueller and the first Indiana Jones movie. Isn't it nice to know that the home console market kinda slowly stole children's attention from the early 80s' arcade craze?

So how can we play these vintage console games? The site uses the JSMESS emulator system, which allows interested parties to play the programs directly with a browser (though the games are best enjoyed using the latest version of a modern browser.) Currently the games don't come with sounds, but who wouldn't be interested in old-school Tron, for instance? Or maybe you're more into E.T.? The site's game collection may not appeal to everyone, but it did start a multibillion dollar industry that spawned handheld consoles, better gaming experiences, etc. etc.
