Vikky Sheridan – Hair Cuts That Stay on Trend at Glow Spa

By A Beauty Feature @abeautyfeature

Vikky Sheridan is the type of hair stylist who understand one of the key elements in a client relation, she describes it an “an element of trust.” When I asked Vikky to explain a little more, she treats all her clients in a special way, first with a lot of patience and listens to how they explain their lifestyle, she observes how they touch their hair, the way they lift it or run their hands through areas that need attention.

A first time client who sits in one of the stylist chairs at Glow Spa will always want to have a cut that they are familiar with, sometimes in reality they yearn for a change, or slight lift to their previous cut. Vikky knows only too well that if a client is pushed into to a new look too quickly; there is a risk that the client will lose confidence in her and will probably not return.

So in her consultations, she will ask questions about preferences on how much time they spend on their hair, if they are working, or looking after a family, how often they plan to visit the salon for a cut. Surprising a short style needs a visit at least every 4 – 5 weeks to keep the style in place; most clients think a short cut will be easy to manage.

Lots of clients always ask “What do you think I should have?” a clear sign that they are undecided and not sure which way to go. Vikky realizes this is an opportunity to build confidence slowly and take the client relationship to one that can be long term.

When I had my hair cut with Vikky, I told her that I am often ending up with same cut that as it grows out looks so dated. After she explained the growth pattern of my hair, which is not just growing straight down, but rather in swirls and at times grows in opposite directions, as well as the shape of the back of the head I was able to understand, some simple basics I have to keep in mind when communicating with a stylist.

These are basics I can always communicate to a stylist in the future, if you listen to your stylist when they first sit you in the chair, they give you clues that will never change no matter who you visit in the future.
