Vegetable and Onion Pakora Recipe

 Hi Everyone,

I am back in Bangalore and here the monsoons have already started. It is raining here while I am posting this recipe. My whole family loves it including me and we all enjoy rain fall with a cup of hot tea and pakoras. It is the most popular snack which is deep fried and can in prepared in 5 minutes. all Indians love to munch on pakoras and sip tea in monsoons. I am going to make pakoras for my family and you can also make them with the help of the recipe I am posting below.

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 5 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients: -

  • 1 medium size Onion chopped finely
  • 1 medium size potato peeled and sliced in rounds
  • 1 cup Besan / Gram flour
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 4-5 green chillies chopped finely
  • water to make smooth batter
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry

 

Method: -

  • Mix besan with all the masala powder and salt.
  • Add enough water to make a smooth batter which is not too thick or runny.
  • Heat oil in a deep bottom kadai in full flame.
  • Coat the sliced potato rounds in the batter and drop in the hot oil to fry.
  • Take them out when it becomes a little brown on a kitchen towel to soak excess oil.
  • Your potato pakora is ready. you can also add cauliflower green chilies slit open
  • Next in the same batter add the sliced onion and chopped green chilies and mix well.
  • Take a spoon and drop the mixture spoon full in the hot oil to fry.
  • take them out when becomes light brown in a kitchen towel to soak excess oil.
  • Your onion pakora is ready.
  • Enjoy these pakoras with a hot cup of tea in monsoons.
