I began this new abstract painting on paper with a palette knife, making strokes of browns, orange and tan in a naturalistic pattern across the paper. Then I painted unbleached titanium around these clumps of color with a brush. To create more interest in the background and to tie the images together, I added parchment, white, and touchs of the original colors throughout.
