UDRP Madeness: ABB.com Files UDRP On 123.com & 222.com

Posted on the 04 March 2014 by Worldwide @thedomains

The owners of the domain names 123.com and 222.com have been hit with a UDRP.

The UDRP was filed by Abb Asea Brown Boverti  LTD which seems to be part of the ABB Group which own the domain name ABB.com and ABB.us with the The Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center (the ADNDRC).

According to Wikipedia.org, ABB is a multinational corporation headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, operating in robotics and mainly in the power and automation technology areas. It ranked 158th in the Forbes Ranking (2013).

ABB is one of the largest engineering companies as well as one of the largest conglomerates in the world.

ABB has operations in around 100 countries, with approximately 150,000 employees in November 2013, and reported global revenue of $40 billion for 2011.

ABB is traded on the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zürich and the Stockholm Stock Exchange in Sweden since 1999, the New York Stock Exchange in the United States since 2001.

The domain name 123.com is owned by Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones S.A Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones S.A whose site is  entel.cl.

222.com seems to be owned by a LinYu of China and the domain is a Chinese site, 222.com

The third domain in the same UDRP is abb-plc.com which is owned by a  JACH CHENG of Hong Kong who is listed as the respondent in the UDRP numbered CN1400745

I have no idea off hand what the complainant’s claim to 123.com or 222.com is based on.
