Turn Tragedy Into Triumph Through Organ Donation
Did you realize that nearly 124,000 men, women and children are awaiting organ transplants in the United States for a chance at a new life. April is National Donate Life Month created to help encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors and to celebrate those that have saved lives through the gift of donation. And today, April 17th, is #BlueAndGreenDay when the public is encouraged to wear blue and green in an effort to spread awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation.

I was asked to participate in a photo shoot last week with Dallas influencers including Steve Kemble, Dawn Neufeld, Leah Frazier, LeeAnne Locken and Tiffany Hendra (among others) to help raise awareness for the cause.
Trend Next's Shamequia Cason was the event organizer and her mission is personal. Cason suffered from kidney disease for 9 years - 5 of those years was as a dialysis patient - and is the recipient of a kidney transplant. Today she lives a happy, healthy life as a result!
My personal belief is that you are not your body. Your physical body is like a dress. And once your soul leaves your human body, you don't need the dress anymore. So, just like you donate old clothing to charity, why wouldn't you done your body to help those who remain on earth? If I can turn the tragedy of my death into life for other families because someone received my heart, kidney, liver, eyes... I saw TAKE IT! What a beautiful gift to bless another person with - life!
