Tracy Morgan “God Spared My Life To Bring Love And To Bring Hope”

Actor/comedian Tracy Morgan shared with the crowd during the screening of his new TV show, ‘The Last O.G.’ the reason God spared his life back in 2014 during that Jersey Turnpike crash, which killed his friend, comedy writer James McNair.During an emotional moment on stage with childhood friend, rapper, Busta Rhymes Morgan shared his testimony:

“He [Busta] sent me a video just giving me love and hope and that inspired me to get out of that wheelchair and just work harder in therapy.”

The comedian continued,

“When we were doing ‘The Last O.G.’ we filmed on the streets in the projects . . . We bring more than just those cameras and those trailers and those lights — to the youth we bring hope, because they see people like me and Tiffany and Cedric right there and they can touch us and we thanked them all the time for allowing us to use their neighborhood. And we are ambassadors — we have to be kind to those people and those neighborhoods, because if we are not kind to them someone could get hurt on that set.”

He concluded, “I know why God spared my life that day in that accident. It was to bring love and to bring hope . . . Forget the 49 years of my life; let’s think about the last three. The accident was three years ago, and am I a better man now than I was? The answer is yes!”

Morgan also admitted to Vanity Fair that he “wasn’t in a good place” during the first year after the accident. What gave him the courage and the power to stay positive as he went through the hard-fought recovery were his family and his faith.

“I prayed to God, and he gave me strength and the strength to forgive that driver,” Morgan shared. “If I didn’t do that, I wouldn’t be here. I would have been angry and bitter. I had to forgive. I believe everyone deserves to be forgiven and getting second chances.”

Amen!
