Torimomo’s Authentic Japanese-Style Yakitori

After attending the Sunday mass at Ayala Malls Feliz chapel at the Roof Garden, my family and I searched for a restaurant. But since Sunday is also a family day the level was quite busy. So, we decided to go to a different floor.

After a few minutes of walking, we stumbled upon a Japanese restaurant with interiors that resemble traditional izakayas in Japan. It has an all-wood design as well as traditional elements such as banners and lanterns. It instantly reminded us of our favourite izakaya place near our home. Since the place is bright, clean, and very welcoming, we didn't hesitate to step in.

Their waitstaff is very friendly and even assisted me in helping my abuelita (grandma) settle. Even though it was our first time there, ordering wasn't difficult because the staff are very willing to guide you

But before I share what we ordered, let's talk about their name.

What is Torimomo?

Let me tell you now that this has nothing to do with that momo meme, alright? Okay! So Tori actually came from the word "yakitori" which is grilled skewered chicken. It is a classic Japanese favourite. It is usually grilled upon order and served in izakayas or Japnese pub. Momo, on the other hand, refers to chicken thigh.

Since the restaurant offers Japanese-style yakitori, I didn't pass the chance to try their yakitori and other offerings.

So how was it? We honestly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. All the grilled meat skewers we chose were tender and very flavourful; not to mention, affordable. I'm actually looking forward to trying the other ones but this branch is really far from where we live. I hope they open up North so it's closer to us.

But if you live near the area, you can find Torimomo on the Second Floor of Ayala Malls Feliz, Dela Paz, Pasig City!

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Happy eating!
