Having a very good ST. Is this the year he finally breaks through? I hated to see Martin leave but after seeing how the catchers are doing, it might not have been as bad as feared. What do you guys think?
They seem to have a love affair with Stewart.
I think if Sanchez has done a decent job at 1b, then he should make the team. Back up catcher and get days at first.
Then if Pedro doesn't bounce back, and or Hart doesn't hit, gets injured, you have another option.
If Sanchez has his throwing issues fixed I have plenty of confidence in him becoming a good major league catcher. His bat seems solid, his blocking skills are there and the rest of his defense (game calling, pitch framing, etc) appear to be at least league average.
