Tokyo Star Optical x Ettusais: Girls Who Wear Glasses Beauty Workshop

By June
As a glass-wearing person myself, I used to think that my makeup options are limited. But I discovered otherwise at the opening launch of new optical concept store from Japan, Tokyo Star Optical at CityLink Mall. Bring to our sunny island is the prevalent trend of pairing funky frames to complement eye makeup has gained popularity thanks to trendsetting Korean and Japanese superstars.

Love this one!

The store opening met with bustling fanfare, with an open-concept layout displaying different frame styles for individual preferences; with ranges such as sharp-looking 'Casual-Executive' types, minimalist frameless ones and special Blue Coat Lens for extra eye protection. Tokyo Star Optical offers 3 fixed package prices: $96, $126 and $156, and this even includes imported frames and Tokyo aspheric lens!

Also, a much loved beauty brand of mine, Ettusais was on hand to give some make tips, with their Spring/Summer 2015 collection; the mini Heart Cheek Color and Creamy Lip Crayon (chubby sticks with pretty floral motifs, glides on beautifully while packing hydration). Not only too cute to boot, the finish by both products are natural looking and fresh, perfect for everyday wear!

  • You can complement the color of the glasses with the makeup you wear. For example: red lips with red glass are a DO. Since Tokyo Star Optical has a massive selection of glasses in different colors and shapes, you'll definitely be able to find one that best suits you!

  • Bigger frames = more makeup area to play with
  • Do remember to define your eyebrows as you do not want thicker frames to overwhelm your look.
  • Also draw attention to your eyes by curling lashes and use a volumisizing, rather than lengthening mascara.

  • Since eyes are framed, easiest way to play up you looks is to accentuate other surrounding features like cheek apples and lips.
I guess I can finally learn to embrace my glass-wearing self and still feel gorgeous. Thank you Publicist, Ettusais and Tokyo Star Optical for the invite, I'm excited to try out the tips on my own! Do drop them a visit and get a dose of Tokyo cool at:
