Togetherness Reaching out with a Human Touch

By Shalinidigvijay @shalinidigvijay
It's all about being together. Not in the virtual world, but in the real, tangible world. The world where we can touch things. Not the touch screen touch people, where all you feel is the alien ,silky smoothness  of your cold screen (or hot of your CPU is overheating) ,but touch and feel the real things.Real things the good god made. The real things that feel cold and hot and wet against your skin.Instead of seeing the freshly caught fish on top chef and then ordering a similarly beautiful fresh looking fillet of Basa fish on your online grocery shopping app ,have you ever felt the need to walk into the Fish Market?I did.I have always bought my fish frozen... But then I saw the fresh fish, being gutted and scaled and cleaned and filleted. And then that changed the way I cook .But life is not all about the kitchen and food. It's about some real contact in this virtual world. Touch and really feel. My mom and I are sitting across the table and texting and sharing pictures. But the wifi provider played spoil sport and then we had to sit together. And that sitting together was priceless. Ganging up against the others and cracking jokes...sharing a plate of oranges and hugs....All that tender loving care and vitamin C is so much better than the jokes and messages we share.Living in a big city has its disadvantages. So many people and all are connected to the whole World Wide Web. Even connected to their FM radio sets on their smart phones. But their interpersonal connections are zero. What used to be fun rides in trains and buses for those using public transport are now just examples of individuals with "No Trespassing " signages on their foreheads.Random conversations with random people were so much fun... Imagine, you just might meet someone you know, where and when you least expect it.So it's time to leave your power banks on charge and let go of the head phones. Look up from the app that you are circumnavigating to find the way. Ask someone for directions , it doesn't hurt to ask. Maybe that guy will walk with you half way and help you . Strike up a conversation, share some information, maybe a cigarette or no...And instead of ordering food on an online app, walk up or drive to the restaurant and order your next meal. Smell the aromas and the frying garlic and the burnt chillies and then order. Look at the way the supposed chef is wiping his sweaty brow with greasy hands and then wiping the On the same napkin that he cleans the plates with.Do you still want to eat here??Me neither!Let's walk a little further. So come on and call some friends to walk with you. Check out what these minuscule seeds did ... Bringing together strangers at Kissanpur .
