The Pluses: One reason why I enjoy using this face brush over others is the fact that I can stipple and buff in one. The bristles are dense and stiff enough to stipple over areas I want to get a higher coverage but at the same time it is soft and has that kinda bend to buff in circular motions. I think this works best with the thinner, more liquid foundations (think Bourjois Healthy Mix, L'Oreal True Match) as it helps it to blend it in more seamlessly. The bristles are soft, not the softest I have ever felt, but still soft on the face which counts the most. Having it for over 6 months, I've had no issues with shedding or washing and I can see it still lasting me another year or so. Even so, it retails at $7.98 which is nothing if it lasts you a year!
The Minuses: I've tried applying thicker BB Creams (namely the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly) and I don't think it applies as well as the formula is thick and gets stuck in the bristles.
Comparisons: The most similar brush I have to the EcoTools brush is the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. The EcoTools is a lot more flatter whereas the Real Techniques is rounder. EcoTools is also less dense and stiff. If I had to pick between the two, I'd pick EcoTools - namely due to the fact that I can stipple with it and I reach out for it more than the other.
Overall:
Whilst I do like and enjoy this brush, I don't love it. It hasn't really rocked my world the way I thought it would but at the same time, I'd rather have it than not. If you are just starting out with makeup, I think this is a really great affordable alternative to try! If you already own several foundation brushes, like myself, I'd give it another thought of whether it's a "want" or a "need". For me this was more of a "want" but I don't regret purchasing it - I've spent $8 on far more useless things :P
