Tiki Faces

By Kathybarbro @KathyBarbro
Tiki Faces If you want to encourage your students make BOLD art, then try giving them really BOLD markers, as in the fat, chisel tip Sharpie variety. It really makes a big difference.
1. Students fold brown paper in half down the center to help them draw symmetrically. I show them how to draw big eyes at an angle, and a large mouth, and left the rest up to their imagination. All kinds of doodles were possible, they just had to me symmetrical.
2. All the art is traced with a thick Sharpie marker. I also told students there had to be some shapes that were solid black to add variety.
