Thursday Things

By Mollyalice @mollyalicehoy

1. I think this is the first time I’ve GENUINELY ALMOST FORGOTTEN to do a Thursday Things. It was in the front of my mind this morning, then somewhere around 10 or 11… poof!

I am 20 years too young to be having these kinds of senior moments.

2. BIG NEWS. Andy’s steadicam arrived!

Yep, a Zephyr of her very own. It’s kind of a big deal. I would tell you more about it, but my eyes tend to glaze over whenever she explains its myriad uses to me.

3. Okay, so did anyone watch the Revolution pilot this week? I think it shows a lot of promise, so Andy and I will definitely be keeping up with it this season.

4. The ease into veganism seems to be going well. I think I’ve eaten 100% vegan for 3 or 4 out of the past 7 days, so I’m proud of myself. There is very little cheese left in our fridge and only a few ounces left in the milk jug. We should probably clean it all out by next week.

Phasing out things like eggs and overtly milk-y products has been the easy part. The hard part is avoiding foods that contain egg and milk products as an incidental ingredient — things like like bread, pasta, white chocolate, protein powder, etc. Those will probably take a lot longer to use up, and it’s harder to find alternatives without cleaning out my pathetic pleather wallet.

As you can see, I’ve been documenting my more extravagant repasts… and yes, it is sad that I consider beanie weenies to be extravagant. You don’t live my life. Don’t judge.

thursday things

Thesis statement: it seems to be going smoothly, and Andy has yet to complain about my eating, cooking, or grocery shopping habits.

5. I’m not really a fan of these sorts of vaguely worded viral blog awards, but I do feel the need to acknowledge them because it’s important that my nominators (in this case, Notes from the Backseat) know how much I appreciate their taking the time to nominate me!

At this point, I’m supposed to list seven “unknown” things about myself. Well, I doubt there are very many things about myself that are ENTIRELY unknown to anyone, so I guess I’ll go with the more obscure factoids.

a. I have an admittedly irrational but intense fear of insects, arachnids, and deep water.
b. I possess a superhuman ability to recognize animation voice actors across roles.
c. I braid upside-down because no one taught me how to do it properly.
d. Every time I go outside, I secretly hope I will spot an injured or baby animal that I can rescue.
e. I judge people who need caffeine to function. If I can live without it, they should be able to, too.
f. When I’m bored, I make up entire life stories for strangers I encounter throughout the day, down to medical disorders, childhood traumas, and the names of their pets.
g. Along those lines, I am really bad about imagining worst-case scenarios. Earlier today, my mother purse-dialed me, and I spent about 5 minutes listening intently to see if she had been abducted and was surreptitiously calling me so I would overhear her captors and alert the police.

Last, I’m supposed to nominate other bloggers for this award. Well, I’m not technically nominating these people, but here are some blogs I follow, many of them friends, that you should absolutely check out:

Quiche-a-Week, The Sweet Life, Days of Docs, The Soap-Box, BitterSweet
