The Ja-ela Police arrested on Tuesday (25) three persons involved in stealing two high- voltage power transmission wire rolls valued at more than Rs.1.3 million from a private organization located at Ekala.
The police said the theft had taken place on April 20 night. The three suspects who were taken into custody subsequent to an investigation are residents of Ja-ela and Ekala. According to the police they are aged 36, 43 and 48 years and heavily addicted to drugs.
These three suspects had entered the premises of the organization at night and stolen a stock of wires valued at Rs. 1,398,076.
Police said they discovered the stock of stolen wires while hidden in a house at Vishakawatte, Ekala.
