Thoughtful festive gift ideas.

Welcome to Christmas gifting at Daisybutter, 2016.
Oh yes, it’s that time of the year again! By now, I’d imagine that many of you have already started to raid the shops for their best wares to gift to your loved ones. I actually began mine in September which felt pretty outrageous but as I’m away travelling, it was kind of necessary too. This year, my Christmas gift guides come in three parts and feature items brilliant as standalone gifts as well as stocking fillers. I always LOVE putting these guides together - it’s like mass online shopping! - and this year I’ve made even more of an effort to include independent sellers and keep things affordable.
Today’s guide? Thoughtful gifts. I mean, every gift is thoughtful, right? But I’ve hand-picked pieces that contribute to great causes, are totally tailored to specific individuals or that do a little more than the average present.
A charitable donation (£Unlimited!) This gift idea popularised in the K-pop Hallyu industry whereby fandoms gift their idols a donation on their behalf. It’s a really sweet way of showing how much you care for something they care about too! As a general rule of thumb, I like to make donated contributions to the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and GOSH each year if I can, and if I can do that on behalf of a loved one, even better!
Customised artwork Notonthehighstreet.com is one of my absolute favourites when it comes to gifting. Particularly for engagements and weddings, but if there’s a couple on your gifting list this year, it might be worth looking into creating a beautiful, bespoke piece of artwork for their present. This sort of gift is perfect for friends (solo or couple!) who’ve recently moved into a new place, too! We all know how difficult it is to really pull the decor of a new home together, right?
Enamel pin I absolutely adore the customising trend lately and the surge of interest in enamel pins. So cute! I picked up a set of Pokemon badges on Etsy for my boyfriend a few months ago and he absolutely loved them (I considered giving him one for every great achievement but couldn’t wait and gave him all 8 in one go!). There’s so many sassy ‘girl gang’ and other truly unique pins out there that it’s pretty easy to find the perfect one for your pal.
Manicure afternoon (£varies) For a friend or family member that has been totally overworked in 2016, how about an appointment for a pamper afternoon? You can go together for some quality time spent and have a miniature beauty refresh too. I know there’s little else I love more than the prospect of a massage followed by a mani-pedi!
A cooking class! (£varies) Right now is the moment that I pray my Mama isn’t reading my blog because this is her present from us Chai kids. Experiences are always fun and even for seasoned chefs, like Mama Daisy, discovering new cuisines and techniques is invaluable! We’ve booked Mum a dim sum cooking class which will be a fun day out for her and is something she’d never dream of treating herself to.
