This Photo Takes Twitter World by Storm for Parenting Inspiration!

By Shwetashetye

Why does a man holding a baby in his arms cause such a stir in the twitter world? Because this right here is pure parenting inspiration. To us, it looks like nothing but a middle aged man holding a baby while talking. But, the twist comes when you come to know that he is a professor holding a class, with a baby in his hand.

The background of this picture is that the man seen is Sydney Engelberg, a professor Hebrew University class in Jerusalem. Professor Engelberg was conducting his session, where it is really nice to know that the class is open to students' kids by a matter of the professor's policy, when the baby began to cry. This baby belongs to one of his students. As per students in the class, the professor did not waste a minute to take the baby in his arms and continue with his lecture in equal continuum.

Apparently, the professor and his wife have been flooded with appreciation emails and tweets congratulating tem for the revolutionary behavior.

Part of discussion in this particular instance is the sheer respect that the professor showed towards his student. Not only does he understand the hardships of being a mom, and to top it a student, but also displays in the most subtle way how he changed something so conservative into a simple instance.

We need more examples like professor Engelberg in our universities and offices to understand the trials and tribulations of a working mother. Only when robust and trustworthy childcare and child friendly policies are bought in can you expect more and more moms to step out and work.

I say this because lets face it, no educated woman wants to take a break from a ruthless life and awesome career. But, priorities and the need to find good child care alternative leaves them with no other option.

What are your views on this sensitive gesture by professor Engelberg?
