Have you ever wanted to transform your old fridge or stove into a smart device without having to spend so much money on them? Sure, it may sound like a dream but this tiny gadget named plugg.ee takes you one step closer to making that dream a reality by turning your home appliances into smart devices without even having to replace them.
Basically, plugg.ee is a smart power outlet that has been programmed with Wireless Arduino code to interact with Android and iOS smartphones. So, when you connect an appliance through this smart power outlet it automatically allows you to monitor and control that particular device using your smartphone by connecting through your home Wi-Fi network. For example, when you connect your fridge to this device, it will let your turn it off remotely or even tell you when the fridge door is not closed properly as it learns the routine of the attached appliance, thanks to an adaptive learning algorithm.

plugg.ee is currently collecting funds over at Kickstarter and has 16 days left to collect over $100k to hit its’ $129k goal. It’d be a shame if this project goes down the dumpster because I think this gadget is pretty awesome. Go make a pledge and help these guys bring plugg.ee into production.
