This keyboard is so thin, you could slip it inside a book without even noticing because it’s as thick as a piece of paper (well, at least some papers).

A small research firm in England called CSR has developed this paper-thin touch keyboard that stands at even less than 0.5 mm. According to Gizmodo, this amazing keyboard was spotted the recent IFA trade show in Berlin. The keyboard uses CSR’s Bluetooth Smart technology to turn “any area into a touch surface” and lets you type on mobile devices way faster and easier than ever before.

It looks pretty cool in the video. Although, I’m not really a fan of touch-screen typing. To me, there’s no better feeling than typing long articles so fast using a physical keyboard, while making that geeky noise. But, this could help to extend the touch interface of tablets and smartphones.

Looks like you’ll have to wait a while to get your hands on this awesome thing because there’s still no word on the availability or the pricing of this super thin, flexible keyboard. Since it’s still in development it could take more than a year to hit the markets. However, CSR has already teamed up with Atmel and Conductive Inkjet Technology to bring this into production as soon as they can.

In the meantime check out the video to see how it works.
