Adanma Luke, the producer of the tragic movie shoot incident, has broken her silence, shedding light on the events leading to the boat mishap that claimed several lives, including that of actor Junior Pope. In a series of emotional videos on her Instagram page, Luke narrated her side of the story, revealing harrowing details of the day’s events. Luke revealed that she was originally supposed to be on the ill-fated boat, accompanied by her brother’s children, but a last-minute request to deliver a memory card to the crew led her to send it with them instead. Upon arrival at the scene, she was met with the devastating news of the loss of several crew members, including actors JP, Abigail, Friday, and Precious.

One startling revelation was that Pope allegedly refused a life jacket because it was dirty, a decision that tragically cost him his life. According to The PUNCH reports, Adanma Luke said, “The people who wore life jackets survived. They also told me that when they were in the water trying to survive, Junior Pope was also there, asking if everybody was okay. They even threw a gallon to him to hold onto, which he did. But, all of a sudden, they did not see him again”.

She recounted efforts to recover the bodies of the deceased and transport them to their families for burial. Through tears, Luke expressed deep remorse, feeling responsible for the tragedy that unfolded on her set. She mourned the loss of the crew members, whom she considered family, highlighting their dedication to her projects, even traveling from Asaba to Lagos to work with her.
Meanwhile, the Anambra Police Command confirmed the arrest of the two boat operators involved in the incident. Luke voluntarily presented herself to the police for questioning, as investigations into the accident continue.
