The Yellow Shirt

A new model at Heatherley's.
Only one model for a dozen of students : not enough space to study portraiture and the elements composing a visage, but still enough to study Human figure and try to capture an expression.
The model is very graceful, and able to stand the pose for very long time... as the time passes, her expression was becoming serious, somehow projecting herself in her thoughts.
Here she is, wearing a deep yellow shirt, surrounded by a dark background, as if she was part of a play of contrasts, gravely observing October times passing by.

We had to work in two sessions - not enough the set the hands properly. I chose to express and draw them rather than masking them, maybe thinking of giving more animation to the picture. 
Another two weeks with this model - let's see where the next attempt will bring us...
