The Walking Dead Teases the Undead Road Ahead in Season 7 Clip

In a little over two months, television’s most watched series The Walking Dead will return for season 7 on AMC.

Though ratings for the zombie drama were down slightly in season 6 after reaching a peak the year before, the show still remains a fan-favorite around the world. And viewers are no doubt excited to see the show come back so they can finally find out who will die at the hands of villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in the upcoming season 7 premiere.

It’s still not clear exactly which character will meet their untimely end, since multiple outcomes have been filmed and there’s been increased security on set. Yet who will live and who will die isn’t the only reason to watch the new season, because the characters who survive Negan’s wrath are set to move out of Alexandria and explore new worlds and people like The Kingdom, hopefully starting off a whole new chapter for the series.
And those new characters they meet on the road will presumably help Rick and the gang to defeat Negan and his Saviors, one of whom can be seen in a new clip from season 7. Dwight (guest star Austin Amelio) is a high-ranking member of the Saviors, and he last appeared in the finale subduing Glenn, Michonne, Rosita and an injured Daryl. Curiously, Dwight seems to be wearing Daryl’s vest and riding his motorcycle in the clip, perhaps hinting that Norman Reedus’ character doesn’t make it out alive.

However unlikely it might be that Daryl is one of the characters killed (considering how popular he is with fans), the new clip from tonight’s The Walking Dead special is notable for continuing to tease fans about who will die. Other than that, it doesn’t seem to provide any new information about season 7 or the upcoming story. The clip doesn’t show where Dwight is going or what he’s up to out there alone, only that he’s encountered a number of disabled zombies. All we can do is guess that perhaps he’s on a mission of some kind or that he’s just out there for a joy ride.
So far, The Walking Dead has done a great job of keeping season 7 under wraps. Beyond the fact that we know Rick and whoever survives will soon meet the people of The Kingdom, not much other information has been released to the public. The group dynamic and loyalties will also change with the coming death or deaths, leaving everyone to regroup and join forces with The Kingdom if they want to win against the new enemy that’s stronger than any they’ve encountered before. Watching the team come together after such an event will be the real reason to tune into season 7.
The Walking Dead season 7 premieres Sunday, October 23 @9pm on AMC.
