The Ultimate Beauty Checklist: Top 10 Must-Have Skincare Products

Skincare is something that,  if you follow it regularly and consistently, is bound to give you results. I mean, of course, you cannot have unrealistic expectations from it, but if you have reasonable expectations, and are consistent with your skincare regime, I kid you not, you will start getting results over time.

Top 10 Must-Have skincare Products

Now, the concern that most of us face is that we pile up n-number of products from all random influencer-suggested brands – which might or might not work for us. You have to understand one thing – every skin type is different. What might suit me, might not suit you, though we both might seem to have similar skin types. Hence, instead of piling up products and wasting money on them, it's better you keep your skincare minimal.

In this blog, I am going to tell you very basic, yet super useful as well as versatile products. So it is basically a compiled list of 10 products, which I, from my years of experience in skincare have put all in place so as to help you with a minimal yet effective skincare regime, as well as also save some bucks.

  • Aloe vera gel:

I cannot just stop raving about Aloe vera gel! It is so damm versatile and no matter what type of skin you have, it is bound to suit you. If you have oily/combination skin, you can use it as a light moisturizer, if you have dry/normal skin, you can mix aloe vera gel with a few drops of Vitamin-E and use it as a moisturizer.

Some of my favorite Aloe vera gels are:

  • Cleanser

There is nothing new in cleanser, but there the only catch here is to get the right cleanser for the right skin type. A must-have is a salicylic-acid-based cleanser for oily and acne-prone skin. For remaining skin types, you can use any cleanser based on your concern.

Some of my favorite cleansers are:

  • Sunscreen

Sunscreen is non-negotiable. How much ever you do skincare, if you aren’t using sunscreen when required, the damage is already done. These days there are various types of sunscreens available out there – gel-based, water-resistant, tinted and many more.

Some of those are:

  • Dot and Key water-resistant sunscreen
  • Reequil tinted sunscreen
  • Toner

I wouldn’t say toner is a must-have, but it is definitely one which is good to have! Toner not just clears out the pores, but also gives a glow and makes skincare more effective.

Some of my favorite toners are:

  • PlumToner
  • Pixi Glow Tonic
  • Moisturizer

Many of you, I am sure have the misconception, that if you have oily or acne-prone skin, you should not be using a moisturizer. That is definitely not true. There are moisturizers for different skin concerns and they help keep the skin hydrated which is of utmost importance.

Some of my favorite moisturizers are:

  • Cetaphil Hydrating Moisturizer
  • Plum Vit C moisturizer
  • Facial oil

I personally love facial oils. They not just help lock the moisture of the skin, but also gives long time benefits such as a subtle glow, reduction in fine lines and much more. Now, even there are facial oils which cater for different skin concerns.

Some of my favorite facial oils are:

  • Earthrythm Rosehip seed oil
  • Shesha Kumkumadi Oil
  • Lip balm

Lips have really thin skin and hence need special attention. It is best if you can use an SPF-based lip balm and a lip masque for nighttime repair.

Some of my favorite lip balms are:

  • Vaseline Lip Tin
  • Sebamed SPF 30 lip balm
  • Earthrythm lip masque
  • Makeup removing balm

Not removing makeup before going to bed is the worst thing you can do to your skin. Sometimes, just a cleanser isn’t enough if you are the one who uses water-proof and heavy makeup. Hence, the need for a cleansing balm comes into the picture.

Some of my favorite cleansing balms are:

  • Clinique Cleansing balm
  • Biore Makeup removing oil
  • Under eye serum

If you are the one who gets dark circles too often, then along with proper sleep and diet, incorporating an under-eye cream is a must. Of course, this isn’t a mandate, but again, something which is good to have.

My favorite under-eye serum:

  • Laureal under eye serum
  • Acne patches

Nothing can do wonders more than a good acne patch. These are small patches which have a potent ingredient which helps reduce acne, and associated inflammation and also helps minimize acne marks.

My favorite acne patch:

  • The derma co-acne patch

Thus, the above list collates all those skincare must-haves, which are not just useful and versatile, but good on the budget as well!
