We’re in full street fest mode, and there’s no way a neighborhood like Lincoln Park is skipping out on the fun. The Taste of Lincoln Avenue is back for its 33rd year from August 6-7, and with it comes more good music, good food, and good times.
August is typically the month for last summer flings before we head back to school or into busy fall quarters at work, and the Taste of Lincoln Avenue is definitely one you’ll want to put on your calendar.
There’s no slowing down here, summer isn’t over yet! Here’s all the deets for the Taste of Lincoln Avenue, a prime Chicago event this season.
Where It’s At

The heart of the festival lies on Lincoln Avenue between the radius of Fullerton Avenue, Halsted Street, Wrightwood Avenue, and Sheffield Avenue. For those taking the CTA, the Red, Brown and Purple Lines to Fullerton will bring you right there.
Entry Rules
Beginning at noon and ending at 10pm, there is a $10 admission fee to get into the all-ages festival and it’s for a great cause! The Taste of Lincoln Avenue supports neighborhood schools, local food pantries, city police and fire departments, and after school programs. Festival entertainment and kid-friendly attractions are free of charge.
What to Wear
Weather in Chicago has been pretty extreme lately, but fingers crossed that the ongoing storms will die down. August is always a hot one, so be sure to dress accordingly and bring some sunscreen. Wear your favorite summer festival attire or show some pride and purchase some new Chicago-themed items from the on-site retail vendors.
What to Do
As always, there’s no shortage of things to keep you entertained. Two music stages will feature a variety of acts and food from Lincoln Park’s best restaurants will be on-site. A new element to the festival will be a wine tasting section for a $30 VIP fee, featuring wines from San Antonio Winery, Francis Ford Coppola, Treasury Wine Estates, and Palm Bay. Little festival-goers in training can enjoy carnival rides, balloons, arts and crafts, pony rides, and more.

Where to Stay
Treat yourself to an overnight stay in Lincoln Park for convenience and comfort. The Lincoln Park Guest House and Villa D’Citta are affordable, B&B-style options that are just a few short blocks from the heart of the festival. Otherwise, there are numerous hotel options in the Loop for only a short car or ‘L’ ride away.
