A mock-up of how Amsterdam's Central Station will look once work on the North-South line of the metro is complete
A message to all the locals and to any visitors who are bewildered by the enormous amount of construction that is underway in our fine capital: work is progressing! The new subway line, which will connect Amsterdam North with what the locals call 'real' Amsterdam, is moving forward. While, yes, at times it can appear like nothing is happening, rest assured that all you have to do is compile a year's worth of images into one time-lapse video and it becomes clear that something (although what it is precisely is anyone's guess) is indeed happening. Enjoy this video and join me in looking forward to the day that Centraal Station is no longer a construction site and looks gleaming and beautiful as planned (as in the photo above).
