When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He's surrounded by strangers-boys whose memories are also gone.

Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It's the only way out-and no one's ever made it through alive.

Everything is going to change.

Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying.

Remember. Survive. Run.

This is a new author for me. I've seen the movies and thought they were great so I was familiar with the story. I really enjoyed The Maze Runner. The movie is pretty close to the book but theirs is still a lot not on screen and I got to know the characters a lot better. As I've seen the movie, the actors faces were in my head as I read which was a bit surreal. I like to make up my own mind about how a character looks. I really enjoyed the book. It opens with a bang and you have no idea what's going on just like the characters. Who's the new guy in the box? What's the glade? Where did the kids come from and what is their purpose? What is the maze? What's a runner? How do they get out of there? Why do the door close at night and what happens on the other side? I found it a fast-paced, well written and easy read.
