The Lodge on the Cove Kennebunkport Maine Wedding | Lisa & John

By Trina Dinnar @TrinaDPhoto

When I arrived in Kennebunkport, Maine on October 17th, 2020 to photograph Lisa and John's wedding, it was very rainy, but I was relieved to see that the ceremony site had been set up indoors at the Lodge on the Cove, which is a beautiful wedding venue. I began by photographing the details inside the venue. The décor had an elegant nautical theme that included sand-dollar table placements, seashell and starfish accents and a personalized anchor for guests to sign.

Lisa and John both got ready separately at Yachtsman Hotel and Marina Club, also in Kennebunkport. I loved how well-coordinated their attire was -Lisa wore a hat and boots with her detailed lace and sequent gown and John wore an embroidered vest and long coat.

The couple exchanged vows inside the lodge surrounded by their closest family and friends. As the ceremony was ending, the weather did a complete turnaround and it ended up being a beautiful sunny fall day! We took a limousine to Kennebunk beach for bride and groom portraits. It was great that the couple built in time for just the two of them. That allowed us to have plenty of photo time without feeling rushed.

Once we arrived back at the venue, Lisa and John were announced into the reception where they shared their first dance. The best man and maid of honor had heartfelt (and funny) speeches and toasts. The whole room was filled with smiles and laughter. Then came the fabulous food, which consisted of clam chowder, garden salad, marinated stead tips, chicken, roasted red potatoes and green beans.

After dinner, Lisa and John cut their wedding cake and mingled with their guests. As the sun was setting, I took the couple outside for portraits onsite amidst the stunning fall foliage. The rest of the evening was filled with music and dancing. All in all, it was a beautiful day and I'm very grateful to have been part of it.
