It’s that time of the month again! It’s UNBOXING time!!! AKA my FAVORITE time of the month!!! Last month, I told you all about the subscription service that I signed up for called Boxycharm. And as you may recall, I was floored by the contents. It really was outstanding, and I’m SO glad I found Boxycharm. Better late than never!
For those of you who did NOT see my post last month, or who just have no idea what Boxycharm is, let me catch you up. BOXYCHARM is a beauty box subscription service that surprises you each month with the best beauty products from popular and chic brands. From nail care, to the hottest hair products, to the top skin care and cosmetics, each box will have your head-to-toe beauty needs covered! So each month, subscribers like me receive a box filled with full size and luxury size beauty samples from their preferred well-known brands.
The subscription is $21/month, and that price includes shipping and handling. So while it’s a bit more expensive than some of the other $10/month subscriptions out there, it’s because this box contains 4-5 full-sized products every month, and sometimes 1 deluxe sample sized item.

The official January “Celebrate in Style” box arrived on Saturday, and I could not WAIT to rip it open and dive right in. Boxycharm provided us with two sneak peeks on their Facebook page, but I had no idea what else would be in there. So exciting!
The first thing I saw was the Celebrate in Style card, which details each item in the box. I decided to set the card aside, so I could still be surprised with the contents.
The next item I saw was a 20% off coupon towards Tarte.com, good for a week in February. Hurrah! I LOVE TARTE COSMETICS SO HARD. Their Amazonian Clay Blushes are life. Seriously. Anyway, here’s the coupon code, so you guys can all use it from February 3rd through February 12th. Have fun!
Next was the FULL SIZED Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum that retails for $47!
What does it do? According to the Tarte website, it will invigorate your complexion as you impart a gradual, subtle radiance with Tarte’s revolutionary bronzing serum. This multi-tasking elixir is powered by maracuja and plant extracts to hydrate, brighten and even skin tone as it helps fight signs of aging for a firmer, brighter, smoother appearance. The infused self-tanning complex delivers instant radiance as it imparts a gradual, natural-looking bronze for a healthy, glowing complexion over time. The fragrant silky texture is infused with herbal notes—bergamot, gardenia, lily of the valley and jasmine—to give you a spa-like pampering with every application.
I actually had tried this product before when I received a sample size from Ulta, and I actually liked it a lot. And I’ve used it again every day since I received the January Boxycharm box, and have re-fallen in love with it. It doesn’t make you tan, but rather it makes you GLOW.
After daily use, it makes the skin look like you are glowing from within, and I love it. The oil itself is a light yellow color, and not at all scary to use. You do need to be sure to wash your hands right after to make sure you don’t get gross tan-hands. No one likes gross tan-hands. The smell isn’t all together awesome, kind of like that specific self-tanner smell, but once it dries, you won’t notice it. And the results make the smell worth it.
Next up were two sheets of Pur-lisse Skin Sparkle Flash Tattoos, which retail for $12/each. I love tattoos. Obviously. I have 12 of my own. And I love temporary tattoos. They’re awesome.
But never have I ever seen SHINY temporary tattoos, and they’re pretty darn cool. Part of me wishes that there was a way to get a real tattoo in a metallic ink. How cool would THAT be? Anyway, I am not a huge fan of the patterns that were on my sheets, since I’m not really the type to wear an arm cuff, or anything like that, but maybe I will find use for them some day. I mean, who am I kidding? I’ll probably put them ALL on today. All.
The next product I pulled out from the box was a FULL SIZED Mirabella Face Prime, which retails for $29. Infuse your skin with Vitamin E while minimizing the appearance of large pores and fine lines with this silky smooth face primer. Don’t mind if I do!
I’ve used this product two times now since receiving this box, and I love the texture and consistency. It’s super smooth, and luxurious feeling. There’s no offensive odor, or really there’s no real odor to speak of at all, which I appreciate in a primer. It feels comfortable on the face, and I also noticed that my foundation smoothed on so easily, and looked beautiful all day long. I’m happy to add Mirabella Prime to my collection, that’s for sure! And the price of $29 is comparable to my favorite Tarte and Smashbox primers. I like it.
The last two products in this box were both from a brand that I was previously unaware of, Beauty For Real, but I’m really happy to have been introduced to them now. The first product was a FULL SIZED BFR True Color Cream lip cream in the shade “Always There.”
Now, when I pulled it from the package, I wasn’t totally excited about the color. Not going to lie.
It just didn’t seem like my shade, I guess. But what was REALLY cool, was a discovery I made when I opened it.
IT LIGHTS UP. IT LIGHTS UP. IT. LIGHTS. UP.
So even though the color may not be my favorite, this packaging is my favorite. If the mirror wasn’t cool enough, there is a mirror on the side of the tube as well. How awesome??
Well, maybe the color isn’t SO bad… I just didn’t have any makeup on AT ALL, so it seemed a bit bright and intense and dramatic on my naked face.
The final product was a FULL SIZED Beauty For Real Perfect Lip Pencil, which retails for $14.
This Perfect Pencil is supposedly the only lip liner you will ever need. Apparently, this special shade complements and enhances the natural shape of your lips for the perfect pout.
I like the color, but I am not really very experienced with using lip liners, though I have been wanting to try using them more and more in my looks. So, we shall see. The pencil is super creamy and thus far, I’m really impressed.
So like I said, this month’s Boxycharm box is INCREDIBLE. All of the products were full-sized, and the full value for all of the products combined is $124, which is $103 more than the $21/month price for this subscription! My personal favorites from this month are the Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum, and the Mirabella Face Prime primer.
