I'd never heard of the author before and decided to take part in the Blog Tour because I liked the title, the front cover and the blurb intrigued me. Good choice! I need to read the other books in the series now. I thought this was a great read. I've read a few historical crime / mystery novels and tend to enjoy them. The Death of Me certainly ticked all of the boxes for me. I liked the fact the book tells two seemingly unconnected stories, Heloise's and Amah's. I loved Heloise as a character, she's quite feisty and completely what I don't expect of a woman in 1864. I sort of fell in love with her. The scene where she dresses like a man to go undercover is hilarious. I need to read the other books to get all of the backstory. The Death of Me is gripping and entertaining.
